Traditional Diversified Chiropractic Adjustments
An adjustment is a direct force applied on a joint in a specific direction to remove any nerve interference and to create motion. Often a “crack” noise is heard when the joint has been moved. The proper term is cavitation, which is air bubbles consisting of oxygen and carbon dioxide gas being released as the joint is moved and stretched.
Chiropractic Treatments without the “Cracking” sound
There are other chiropractic techniques that can be applied to certain conditions to help relieved and move the joint without having to hear the “cracking” sound.
They include the following:
Mobilization of the joints, activator device, modalities (electrical muscle stimulation, Interferential current), hot/cold therapy, trigger point therapy, soft tissue therapy massage with movement, PIR/PFS Stretching, Acupressure using meridian points (acupuncture without needles) and Myofascial Release Technique.
Orthotics Orthotics are customized devices inserted into the patient's shoes in order to correct abnormal biomechanics, redistribute plantar pressure, or accommodate painful areas of the plantar surface. This service provides correction to many feet disorders such as flat feet, high arches, plantar fasciitis, heel pain, heel spurs, Achilles tendonitis, shin splints, calluses and feet pain.
Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Physiotherapy Modalities such as Electrical Muscle Stimulation, TENS and Interferential Current may be used for certain conditions. In addition, Hot/Cold packs, PIR/PFS stretching and soft tissue muscle therapy are applied where appropriate. Also, Rehan and home exercises for the strenghtening phase of care are custom tailored specific of the patients' problems.
Muscle Imbalance Evaluation This exam concentrates on the major muscles of the body and by comparing each side, we can see where the imbalances are. Muscles in the upper arms, trunks, and lower legs are evaluated carefully to see where the imbalances are and then how to correct it. This exam takes about 30 minutes to perform and there is a fee of $40 for this evaluation.
